what are the benefeits of planting trees?
i am doing a presentation for 4-h about the million trees project…i am trying to come up with more reasons to plant trees, other than the fact that it lowers the co2 levels…any ideas?
By planting trees, we can help contribute to bio-diversity, help cooling of ur homes and municipalities, provide a habitat for birds, small animals, insects etc , thus also contributing to bio-diversity. We can also leave a legacy for following generations, teach our children about the life cycle.
example:
the “mother” of our Black Walnut was planted on the next street in 1936, we gathered 5 nuts, planted them, we transplaned one to our lawn, it is now bearing nuts; the “mother” of our Oak Trees is a few blocks away, we gathered some nuts, planted them, now the oaks are as tall as our house.
